Contributions to charities for this purpose are tax deductible for 2009 as is stated below:

Only cash contributions made to these charities after Jan. 11, 2010, and before March 1, 2010, are eligible. This includes contributions made by text message, check, credit card or debit card.

"Americans have opened their hearts to help those affected by the Haiti earthquake," said IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman." This new law provides an immediate tax benefit for the many taxpayers who have made generous donations."

With President Obama as our President, we are seeing many tax law changes and incentives that will affect both the individual and businesses.  We will keep you posted on the latest in any changes that may affect you. 

The Homebuyer credit has been extended for first time homebuyers and also applies to existing homeowners.  Call us to get the details and know the time frame for buying that new home to get the $8000 credit for first time homebuyers or $6500 for existing homeowners.
